Violin Instructor

Michael Winer is an active violinist and teacher with performance experience in the Cleveland, Boston, and Kansas City metropolitan areas. He has performed with the Brevard Music Festival, Musique en Ecrin, and the International Musical Arts Institute summer festivals, which he has attended for the past five summers. As a teacher and advocate of arts and music education, Mr. Winer has taught in a wide variety of institutes and programs, ranging in styles from traditional classical music to rock and jazz. Some of the more interesting programs include Community Music Works partnered with the Providence String Quartet, the Lakewood Project partnered with Mark Wood of the Transiberian Orchestra, and a special teaching project geared towards inner-city school students partnered with the Cleveland City Schools and the Cleveland Orchestra. Mr. Winer earned his Bachelor of Music degree from Baldwin-Wallace College and Conservatory of Music in Berea, Ohio where he studied violin performance with Julian Ross. After graduating cum laude in 2004, Mr. Winer went on to pursue a master’s degree from Longy School of Music in Cambridge, studying with Eric Rosenblith. Currently he is working towards a performer’s certificate at Park University where he studies with Ben Sayevich. Mr. Winer is also currently on the faculty of the Carnegie Arts Center in Leavenworth, KS where he is developing a program for children of low-income families. |
