Kira Warner, originally from Colorado Springs, Colorado, has been playing piano since the age of seven. Ms. Warner holds a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance from the University of Wyoming and she recently graduated summa cum laude from the University of Oklahoma with a Master’s Degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy. Ms. Warner was a founding member of the Los Angeles New Music Ensemble and the Oklahoma Contemporary Movement. She has played in master classes for such artists as Davide Cabassi and Rubia Santos. While in Wyoming, she was the recipient of the Christine Recht Memorial Chair Award. She also participated in the Dorothy Jacoby Concerto Competitions as well as the UW Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, and flute choir, where she acted as principal flutist, piccolo player, and keyboardist. Kira has experience playing organ, harpsichord and celesta. While attending OU, she served as full-time graduate assistant and taught both group piano classes and private lessons. Her piano teachers have included Theresa Bogard and Jeongwon Ham. |
