Russell Harvey earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder where he studied trumpet under Terry Sawchuk. Mr. Harvey has completed extensive studies in the Master of Music Education program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music. As a public school teacher since 2002, Mr. Harvey has taught elementary and middle school band in Colorado, and fourth grade through high school band in Texas. He also served as a regional and state adjudicator in Texas and directed the Wichita Falls Community Jazz Band. Over the past ten years, Russell has taught private lessons to children and adults in addition to working as a freelance performer at various churches and special events. Mr. Harvey is currently teaching band in the Kansas City area.
