Violin and Viola Instructor

Trisha McGovern has been playing the violin since the age of four. She earned her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music where she was a student of Ian Swenson. She continued her studies on the violin with Cathy Van Hoesen of the San Francisco Symphony upon graduating and taught and performed extensively throughout the Bay Area before moving back home recently to Kansas City. Ms. McGovern is presently working on her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at UMKC’s Conservatory of Music where she is a student of Benny Kim. She is a violinist in the UMKC Graduate Fellowship String Quartet and has been performing throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area. Trisha has a passion for performing and teaching. She enjoys seeing her young students develop into promising musicians. |
